Data Sources represent all the possible connection strings for in which you want QuickReportz to have access. You can manage data sources by clicking the "Data Sources" under the admin dropdown.
Click "Create New" to create a new data source, or click edit/delete to modify an existing data source.
Enter data for a data source:
- DataSource Name
- Friendly name to be show to the user. Best practice is to come up with a naming convention such as "DatabaseName_Environment".
- Connection String
- Actual connection string to be used to connect to the database. Example connection strings can be found here: https://www.connectionstrings.com/sql-server
- Require Administrator
- When this is enabled only report editors with administrator access can publish reports using this data source. This makes it possible for report editors to publish reports to production for some data sources but others require a DBA to approve.
